DB post # 1 – When my brain processes information, it usually has to read a text more than once. For example, when I’m studying for an exam or reading a passage in order to fully understand, What point is being related across? I have to read it twice. The first time I read it I just kinda lightly skim through it and underline or circle certain things that may seem important to me or that I don’t understand. The second time I read it. I have to break each paragraph Or page down and I’ll take apart what each sentence means so my brain can process it correctly. When it comes to having to memorize certain things for test or exams, I normally just have to read it once and then write it down and and after that, I’ll just always remember it. I can’t really explain why but Once my brain remembers something, I’ll never forget it so like, for example, in my past psychology class Once I read the psychology textbook I just fully understood it, and I never seem to forget it. To give another example, I learned the anatomy of the entire human body, and I had to practice it for a while but now my brain just simply recognizes everything and I can recite everything. Usually, I do always think before I speak I like to carefully craft what I’m gonna say and like how I’m gonna order this sentence, in doing this, it allows me to really take a second to understand exactly what I’m saying and how it may come across to the other person. Out of all my three intelligences I would say the first one and the third one relate to me the best. I usually always take in math or science overall logic into what I’m thinking, and I carry that out into everything I do or say. My third intelligence which was Bodily learning, I would also say applies to me because I’m a very hands-on person I like watching videos, but nothing beats the real thing. For example, in my previous psychology class, we had the option to either watch. Did the section of a cow eye or actually perform it. I took it to myself to do both options, and I found that when my hands were dissecting the instead of watching it, I actually learned a lot more because it was directly in my hands. I will say I don’t think I could’ve did one without the other because I watched the video first I knew what I was doing, and I already knew all the different parts of the cow eye.
DB post # 2 – Group Restatement of sentence – The assumption that all sites on the phylogenetic model evolve at one rate, between conserved and nonconserved, is an oversimplification of the complex process of the sequence of evolution in the eukaryotic genomes.

Group 4
Audience – Middlescholers
Topic – knowledges of nature, the relationships between living things and plants( all things in nature) AEK VS TEK
Questions – Which type of knowledge do we tend to use more; AEK or TEK?
How does it appeal to audience – presentation started off very engaging and strong for middle schoolers however over time that energy dies down a bit. I also like some of the vocabulary as it is more appealing to middlescholers (ex womp womp)
Glow – Slides were very well organized and connected towards their topic, especially for middle schoolers there were a lot of fun colors and it wouldn’t be confusing due to their slides reflecting nature.
Grow – I would have liked the speaking to have rotated more, everyone did speak but some people were more limited.
Group 6
Audience – Parents helping their kids study for a AP exam
Topic – Cognitive limitations, ways their children think and learn as well as how parents can help their children study in many different ways.
Questions – How can I tell the way my children learn, should we trial many different methods?
How does it appeal to audience – I think the opening of the presentation was very appealing to their anticipated audience, they made sure that the “parents” knew how they’d children can think regardless of how well they want their child to do.
Glow – As cognitive limitations are a really big topic I think they way they explained all their information and didn’t totally bombard their audience was very well, they also explained their information in a way that their audience will know what they are talking about.
Grow – I would have liked more consistency in the slides, they had nice pictures and the perfect amount of text but all the different colors and additives were a bit too much, and hard to focus on all at once.
Group 5
Audience – Parents helping out their kids with a science class
Topic – plants/Algi, not completely sure on the topic however I know that they are talking about plants
Questions – Is land plants the main part of this presentation?
How does it appeal to audience – I would say this would appeal to their audience if the parents already know this topic however I feel like there were a lot of big words and chunks of text that was hard for the audience to understand. Overall I would say the presenters knew exactly what they were talking about however they needed to translate it better.
Glow – I like how their slides represent what their topic is, I also liked how they made sure to include everything about their topic
Grow – I would of liked a little more eye contact, there was a lot of information they relayed to their audience but there seemed to lack eye contact to their audience
Group 6
Audience – High schoolers volunteering in a hospital
Topic – Nanotechnology, a new era of cancer treatment, intending to treat breast cancer
Questions – Can this help other diseases in the future? Will there be complications in shrinking the tumor instead of completely getting rid of it?
How does it appeal to audience – I would say they did a really good job attending to their audience not only consistently referring back to high schoolers but making sure all the big scientific words were explained fully.
Glow – I really liked how organized the slides were, they made sure to include lots of pictures in order to keep their audience engaged and again really made sure that their audience understood what was being presented.
Grow – I would want the slides to have less text on them, otherwise group 1 did a very good job on their presentation

Group 4
Movie Name – The Amazing Spider-Man
Why is it science fiction – Flim contains genetic engineering and cross species experiments
Interesting fact – There has been cross species engineering with a goat and a spider giving the goat some of the spiders dna
Glow – Group 4 did a really good job in explaining all their science through the movie, they did not just name the different types of science but they made sure to clearly go through it in detail.
Grow – Overall it was a great presentation however the only grow I really have is wishing the speaking was more spread out through the group, otherwise a really organized slideshow.
Questions – As today we are already preforming genetic engineering what places it different in Spider-Man?
GROUP 2
Movie name – Passengers
Why is it science fiction – Furistrist approach set on a ship and in space. Hyper sleep, the passengers are kept in pods to preserve their youth.
Interesting fact – There are tons of study’s on trying to preserve human tissue to maybe one day be able to travel.
Glow – overall it was a very informative presentation, I though the explanations on science were explained throughly and overall the presentation moved with a great flow
Grow – The slides had a lot of information on them and it was very hard to read due to the small font size, I would just have less paragraph texts when creating slides.
Questions – Would you ever be one of the people to volunteer to go to sleep for 120years and go to a different planet?
Research paper(Peer review of rough draft) –
TASK ORIENTATION
Yes the essay did follow the task at hand, even though it is an outline the paper is very well organized and has all the proper points to clearly establish all the different points of her paper. The outline also has very nice flow and is easy to understand to the point where you will not be confused on what her research paper is about.
STRUCTURE
The paper does have a clear thesis in the introduction, making a clear pave way into the next paragraph. The thesis statement also ensures to wrap up the introduction by restating her claim and her overall question. Due to this being an outline the paper does not have any topic sentences, however there are multiple bulletpoints for each section that describe what will be talked about in chronological order.
SUPPORT AND ANALYSIS
Again since the paper is only an outline right now, the paper doesn’t have any sources right now. The researcher is still adding sources so thats in progress.
ORGANIZATION
As mentioned above the outline is very well organized and has such a nice flow, which makes it very easy to follow along. All the different subfields have corresponding bulkier points that clearly establish what the researcher is talking about and how they are moving onto the next part.
CLARITY
There was no confusing bulletpoin throughout the entire outline, all the points were clear and concise and very easy to understand. The clearest bulletpoint was the thesis statement, it was a very well written sentence and it clearly established the sum of the introduction as well as their question.
PROOFREADING
Overall there we’re no grammatical errors, and due to there not being any sources right now I can’t judge citation errors.
OVERALL
overall the outline was pretty solid, it was very easy to understand and flow through with no confusion. There are some things missing like the references so the only thing I would fix is adding some sources.
